The Metis collection by Sean Lavin explores geometry through the interplay of metal, stone, and light. Angular planes of Natural Brass form a sculptural outer structure around a geometric alabaster core, alternately revealing and concealing the stone as the fixture is viewed from different angles. The contrast between the defined metal framework and luminous alabaster gives Metis its distinctive architectural character.
Precisely formed Natural Brass panels are joined with carefully resolved, seamless welds, emphasizing the craftsmanship behind the complex geometry. Within, a complementary alabaster diffuser conceals an integrated 2700K LED light source. When illuminated, the stone’s natural translucency softens the light while casting a warm reflection across the surrounding brass surfaces.
At 23", the Metis Pendant transforms the collection’s faceted geometry into a substantial suspended volume. Ideal for grand entryways, great rooms, and other expansive interiors, its generous scale allows the relationship between luminous stone and sculptural metalwork to become a defining element within the architecture.
