Design Detour: Marie Flanigan
Marie Flanigan’s balanced, classic and deeply comfortable spaces aim to tell her clients’ stories by reflecting their personal definitions of beauty. Her favorite layers — antique white oak, richly veined marble and unlacquered brass — are those that patina over time, deepening their natural character as they go. “Houstonians are all about Southern hospitality and comfort, expressed in an elevated, livable way,” Flanigan says. “Whether we’re highlighting a family’s favorite passed-down antique piece or hanging art from all their travels, every home I design speaks on emotional and spiritual planes.”
