Design Detour: Zoe Feldman

Zoe Feldman’s namesake firm is known for punched-up spaces steeped in history... or at least designed to look like it. Her timeless and collected aesthetic employs traditional materials -- think mohair and patinated metal -- in modern ways, using juicy colors and dramatic scale to keep spaces relevant for today.

Conservation is always key... Zoe donates initial consultation fees to environmentally focused charities. “Our mission is to leave the world more beautiful than we found it,” Feldman says.

RSVP

Masseria's intimate indoor and outdoor setting and open kitchen make you feel transported to California. I’d love to have dinner there with a great group of women, and my dream guest list would be Kamala Harris, Framebridge founder Susan Tynan, artist and Swatchroom co-owner Maggie O’Neill, Bluemercury CEO Marla Beck and Michelle Obama.”

TRY THIS

“At first glance, Divine Savages Safari Soirée looks like a classic toile, but upon closer inspection, it’s pretty irreverent. I’ve used this in a powder room -- such a good space for a fun, modern surprise moment.”

BRIGHT IDEA

“We love to use bedside sconces in conjunction with table lamps. Smaller task lights are great for reading and much less disruptive -- plus, they’re pretty!”

STOP IN

GoodWood has a well-curated and affordable selection of foundation pieces. We recently found an old industrial metal cabinet there and ended up using it as a great bath storage piece.”
