Design Detour: Becca Casey

In every project—from a Bellport cottage to a Connecticut country house to a Southampton surf retreat—Becca Casey of Becca Interiors strives to create authentic and classic spaces with warmth and charm to spare. Inspired by her experience working in historic homes throughout New England, Casey eschews trends for a layered and livable mix that serves as a restful backdrop for her clients’ busy lives. “By balancing raw and natural textures with the thoughtful use of color and pattern, we aim to create spaces that feel personal and effortless.”

“I’d love to have dinner at Artisan with Kerri Rosenthal, Stephanie Trotta, Virginia Tupker, Justine Hoagland and Victoria Gloria.”

“The lines of Elizabeth Eakins - Alur Handblock are simple and neat and have the perfect scale for a throw pillow or set of curtains -- I love the simple botanical design against the flax linen ground.”

“I love to layer lighting in the master suite by flanking reading sconces like the Keil Swing Arm Wall Light at the headboard, coupled with the addition of table lamps on either side. Diffused lighting at this level of the room can create a really cozy atmosphere, and really set the tone of a space.”

"The romanticism of Frances Palmer’s pottery creates the most  compelling piece to add to any interior. This two-handle Greek vase is bold in its scale and features a hand hewn finish, beholding the most charming piece of artwork and pottery."

Bungalow Westport has a gorgeous array of unique worldly finds. We source for every project there, and always find a new treasure to layer into our interior concepts, whether it be a hand-loomed woolen bedspread from South America, or intricate potteries from Europe. Our online store Ayr Barns is the truest reflection of our aesthetic, featuring artisans we have worked with for many years. Whether it’s a handwoven willow umbrella basket from Yorkshire, UK or our exclusive Tetbury brass hooks, each item is a piece I have personally selected and lean on time and again.”

“I love the Modern Schoolhouse Lantern for its large scale and antique brass verde finish—such an ode to the classic schoolhouse style.”

“The coolie shade, clear cylindrical base and clean and modern lines of the Brooks Table Lamp juxtapose beautifully when paired with an antique patinaed table.”

“The versatility of the Gaios Table Lamp has always been a favorite for our projects. The bulbous bodice with rustic glaze is reminiscent of an ancient pot and brings character to any space.”
