Design Detour: Mary Welch Fox Stasik

With projects ranging from fitness studios to a jaw-dropping beach house, it’s safe to say that designer Mary Welch Fox Stasik came to play. As she sees it, Charleston is the perfect place to work her modern-minimal-glam magic with clients who don’t take their surroundings too seriously.

“This city is continuously growing and feels more progressive than ever,” she says.  “It’s so fun to be a part of the energy here.”

RSVP

“My dream Charleston night would be drinks at The Dewberry’s rooftop bar, The Citrus Club followed by dinner at Melfi's with a mix of Charleston design creatives who inspire me daily: Cortney Bishop, Angie Hranowsky, Jenny Keenan, Jill Sharp, Boyd Architects, Heather Wilson and Kate Towill. I love picking fellow designers and architects’ brains, and there are so many talented designers and architects here!”

TRY THIS

“One of the best parts of living in Charleston is being surrounded by so much greenery. I love to reference that by using Laine + Alliage Foliage Jungle (on silk), especially in a bright white beachy space with wood accents.”

BRIGHT IDEA

“I love to use an oversized light fixture as a conversation piece and then layer complimentary lighting accordingly. The Rousseau Grande Ten Light Articulating Chandelier strikes the perfect balance of sleek style and interest.”

HOT TIP

“I love working one-on-one with James Irving at Pirate’s Forge on custom benches and cabinet pulls. He is so knowledgeable and genuinely loves what he does and his energy comes through in his custom metalwork!”
