House of Elle Décor

To celebrate 30 years of beautiful design, ELLE Decor enlisted A-list decorator Neal Beckstedt to design the House of ELLE Decor - a New York City penthouse apartment with stunning style and waterfront views. The luxury Tribeca residence is perched atop 108 Leonard, a restored neoclassical building originally built in the late 19th century. Beckstedt carried his signature style throughout the residence by mixing vintage, contemporary and custom pieces. Tour the light-filled home and shop the lighting looks he selected. Kitchen

Seamless custom cabinetry creates a clean backdrop allowing the kitchen island to be the heart of the space. A trio of Crown Top Banded Globe Lanterns by Chapman & Myers hangs overhead with custom chain sleeves.

“There is a surprise around every corner,” Beckstedt said. Views of midtown Manhattan can be seen through the kitchen window covered in a patchwork of pure gold leaf.

Dining

The open frame of the Darlana Extra Large Lantern by Chapman & Myers (with custom shades) complements the scale, proportion and volume of the towering dining room, which includes a custom knotty pine dining table and vintage French Louis XVI dining chairs in pink linen.

Living Room

A restrained canvas and open floor plan allowed Beckstedt to brilliantly layer lighting and texture throughout the home. The assortment of lively hues in the living room infuses individuality and modernizes the Italian architecture. Randall Powers, Halifax Large Table Lamp by Ralph Lauren (with custom shade).

The living room's vibrant rhythm keeps the eye moving towards one of the penthouse's most dramatic spaces: the wine room.

Wine Room

The Carlo Table Lamp by Thomas O'Brien sits brilliantly atop a custom brass-paneled desk.

The Ré Flush Mount by Suzanne Kasler brings added drama to the high-gloss red lacquered ceiling.

With floor-to-ceiling brass-and-glass wine racks, Beckstedt wove in darker accents—such as the Naomi Floor Lamp and the Classical Urn Form Large Table Lamp—to give the room a romantic, moody feel. “You want that drama,” he said.

Master Bedroom

Surrounded by a symphony of soft neutrals, the Savona Large Chandelier by Chapman & Myers (discontinued) takes center stage above the custom four-poster pine bed. The Natural Parchment leather finish of the Dixon Small Table Lamp by Thomas O'Brien adds another layer of tonal texture against the suede-covered walls.

Master Bath

The Diego Grande Classical Perching Bird Lantern anchors the organic aesthetic in this light-filled, minimalist master bathroom.

Beckstedt incorporated the Tiny Terri Round Accent Lamp in Crystal by Thomas O'Brien to give this marble-covered bathroom luxurious appeal.

Master Closet

The sleek globe silhouette of the McCarren Medium Flush Mount by Ralph Lauren provides sculptural contrast to the cabinetry.

Guest Bedroom

The Venetian Medium Chandelier by Chapman & Myers glows above a vintage central Asian tapestry in this guest bedroom swathed in a warm Terracotta red. The bedside table is illuminated by the William Pharmacy Floor Lamp bv J. Randall Powers.

Guest Bathroom

The traditional design of the Warwick Medium Lantern by Chapman & Myers pays tribute to the Italian Renaissance in this serene guest bathroom.

Art Room

The Art Room features the Ashcroft Floor Lamp by Ralph Lauren (discontinued) and the Vendome Large Chandelier by Thomas O'Brien in Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass.
