Since she was first introduced in 1959, Barbie has been a symbol of can-do spirit – #goals more than a half-century before that term entered the lexicon. To celebrate the new Barbie movie in style, we worked with HGTV and the competing design teams on the HGTV Barbie Dreamhouse, featured in a four-part design challenge series hosted by supermodel, designer, author, and entrepreneur Ashley Graham. Each design team was assigned a decade in Barbie’s history to use as inspiration for their space, and the results are a dream come true. In the living room, designed by Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson of “Married to Design,” the Londyn Large Chandelier by kate spade new york crowns a double-height space defined by sporty neon accents, a graphic fireplace treatment and windows featuring silhouettes of iconic Barbies throughout history.
